Within the first few minutes of my phone call with Liza, I was smitten. With her make-it-happen energy and zest for life, I just knew that Khaled and I would have an unforgettable time capturing this intimate wedding story.

I’ll never forget our first meeting with Liza and Jon. Their love story is hollywood-worthy, seriously. Let me set one of the many romantic scenes for you: A tall handsome man sits at an Olive Garden in Seattle, glances at his watch, opens his laptop and prepares to have a scheduled Skype date with his love- thousands of miles away in Puerto Rico. After a few moments, he looks up to find his beautiful love…standing there…in Seattle. Yes, I’d definitely watch this film on the big screen.

Listening to them laugh together as they conversed with us and seeing the way Jon lovingly glanced at Liza from time to time, it’s certain that many more beautiful memories are in store for this special couple.

Liza and Jon shared with us that their plans were to have an intimate wedding inviting the family and closest friends that had impacted their lives throughout the years. It was important to this couple that their cherished loved ones had a great time and an unforgettable experience celebrating their unity.

They married in the church that Liza had been attending since she was 9. Her pastor, who also did Liza’s sweet fifteen, married them. It was such a sentimental touch, and the perfect way to start Liza’s new journey with Jon, as husband and wife.

Besides being spontaneous and determined, Liza loves to shake things up and dance to the beat of her own drum. She nixed the idea of including a maid of honor, flower girl, bridesmaids and best man. Instead, the wedding party included their parents, her two brothers and Jon’s two beautiful children, Cierra and Kade. I must give Liza kudos. Channeling her project manager skills, Liza planned her wedding day timeline perfectly to include ample time for all the details and special moments of the day. The day transitioned smoothly and almost effortlessly- a photographer’s dream.

We can’t thank Jon, Liza, and their family enough for trusting our vision and allowing us to spend such a wonderful time documenting their memories.

One of my favorite details (besides the luscious succulents in Liza’s bouquet) is the delicate lace on her invitations and how it compliments her stunning wedding gown.

This vintage brooch, belonging to Liza’s grandmother, gave her bouquet the perfect touch.

Liza’s grandmother was too fragile to travel from Puerto Rico, so she gave Liza her bible to symbolize her presence.

I’m obsessed with Liza’s stunning bracelet.
