I’ve allowed photos to speak for me over the years when the words just don’t pour out the way I’d like. This post is one of the hardest ones I’ve ever had to write and admittedly, I was hesitant to post. However, a part of me knows that it may bring happiness and healing to all those that cared for this beautiful artist, including myself.
We created art together. We laughed, hugged, dreamed and talked about our children’s future. She impacted my life with her talent and beauty, both inside and out.
Over the past few days I’ve read beautiful memories of Kimberly, heartfelt words, and shared in the pain that many friends and loved ones felt upon the knowledge of her passing. Kimberly inspired so many with her authentic light.
A few years ago, I had the privilege of capturing some portraits of Kimberly in her home studio and documenting her passion. It was such an incredible afternoon and our time together that day will always have a special place in my heart.
“So this is me,
Kimberly Hendrix.
I am a clothing designer.
I am imperfect; so are my clothes. I have a history;
so do my clothes.
I am unique and beautiful and
one-of-a-kind,
just like the clothes I make;
just like my customers;
just like my friends;
just like everyone I know.”
